An old video from 2017 from Canada is being shared on the Indian social media platforms with the false claim that a Muslim woman was assaulted by a French police officer.
An order allegedly by the Ministry of Home Affairs is going viral on social media which claims that the number of guests permitted in wedding functions in Delhi is being increased from 50 to 100
The viral message reads the Ministry of Home Affairs on November 23, 2020, "We are ordering 100 people at the wedding, in previous, it was 50 now we are allowing 100 people in Delhi".
This news, however, is fake and misleading.
A Press Information Bureau (PIB) fact check has debunked the report and said, the number of people allowed to attend a wedding function in the national capital is limited to 50 people and has not been increased to 100.
The tweet reads, "An office order allegedly issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs claims that the number of guests permitted in wedding functions in Delhi is being increased from 50 to 100. #PIBFactCheck: This claim is Fake. No such order has been issued by the Home Minister of India."
The Home Ministry has made it clear that this order dated November 23 is fake, saying that no such order has been issued on its behalf. The ministry has made it clear that only 50 people can attend the wedding ceremony.
According to the news report on 17 November, Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal has approved the AAP government's proposal to allow only 50 people to attend wedding functions in the national capital. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that his government has decided to withdraw an order allowing 200 guests to attend weddings in the city, and sent the proposal to the LG for approval. "The lieutenant governor has approved the Delhi government's proposal to allow only 50 people at marriage functions,"
In conclusion, the order allegedly by the Ministry of Home Affairs allowing 100 people in wedding functions is fake.
